What is a Clinical Trial?
Veterinary clinical trials study the safety of efficacy of new diagnostic or therapeutic modalities in animals. They are ways in which researchers can improve knowledge about disease conditions and therefore improve the health and welfare of animals.
What are potential benefits of having my pet participate in a clinical trial?
- Access to expert veterinary care and cutting-edge treatments
- Potential cost savings
- Helping your pet have the best possible outcome
- Helping future pets (and people) by developing better preventatives, diagnostics or treatments
Remember that all clinical trials conducted through Universities have strict ethical guidelines in place, and at all times you have the right to withdraw your pet from a trial.
If you are looking for a trial that we are unable to offer you, have a look at the American Veterinary Medical Association’s veterinary clinical trials registry to see if there is something suitable for your pet (Veterinary Clinical Trials Registry | Studypages)
